We are Project Côte d’Ivoire: a team of 5 climbers based in the UK. In December 2018 and January 2019, we travelled to Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa, to climb on virgin rock. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first documented climbing in the Ivory Coast.

During our stay, we were successful in putting up a multi-pitch line on La Dent de Man, the main peak in the area, and we cleaned and climbed several boulders. We reached out to a local school, Le Lycée Professionnel de Man, to introduce the local youth to climbing, and took them bouldering. Now that we’re back, we are putting together a film that documents the expedition, to share what it’s like for 5 mates who love climbing to go on an adventure.
